  • EA Credit 15: Renewable energy


    To encourage the installation and operation of renewable electricity generation systems.


    Design and install a renewable electricity generation system. Receive 1 point for every 500 kWhA kilowatt-hour is a unit of work or energy, measured as 1 kilowatt (1,000 watts) of power expended for 1 hour. One kWh is equivalent to 3,412 Btu. produced per year by the system. The maximum allowable points for this credit is equivalent to the total points earned from all other EA credits. Renewable energy certificates (RECs) must be retained by the building owner.
