If you use native and adapted plantings on a vegetated roof, that area can contribute to SSc5.1.
If you have achieved SSc2, you can count the square footage of a green roof toward SSc5.2. Calculate the maximum square footage needed to gain both SSc5.2 and SSc7.2 - SSc6.1: Stormwater Design—Quantity Control.
Some green roof designs can aid in reducing stormwater runoff quantity.
Green roofs, if used for SSc7.2, can filter and improve the quality of stormwater before it leaves your site.
If using a green roof, plant it with native vegetation that doesn’t need permanent irrigation.
