We are working on a production building which will be certified. Now the owner decided to go ahead with the second construction stage (which doubles the building size) just right after we finished the certification process. The building will be one functional unit afterwards.

If the second part is not certified, will the whole building loose its certification? Can anyone help me with that?

Thanks

Jasmin

Jasmin,

If the first building is entirely complete and is already certified under New Construction, then you will keep the certification even though there is further work happening which is outside of the original project scope. If, however, you're talking about EBOMEBOM is an acronym for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance, one of the LEED 2009 rating sytems. that's a different story.
