LEED NC 2009 - Final Certification
I have a client who would like to install PV cells on the roof at a project where we are seeking LEED certification. The issue is that the system will probably not be installed until after the project receives the C-of-O. I have tried to contact the USGBC to ask how long we can wait (after completion of construction) before submitting the final documentation for certification. To date I have no answer and wondered if anybody here knows the answer.

Substantial Completion......?
I am working on a large manufacturing project aiming for LEED Silver. The project is being completed by area and COs will be issued for each area. Areas are defined by particular processes that will be performed in that area during the manufacturing process upon completion.
My question is, what in this case, is substantial completion? Would it be after the final CO is issued, can it be a judgement call from the design team? In this case, what constitutes substantial completion and when the 24month clock begins to tick?
Thanks for the help guys!
Johnathan, can you please post this question to our LEED reviews forum? Thanks.
Deadline for project submission
Project deadlines are found in the Certification Policies Manual starting on page 16 and rating system specific deadlines are in the appendices starting on page 31. See page 36 for the answer to this question. If the project has reached Substantial Completion without any Design submission being made, a Combined review submission must be made withing 24 months of Substantial Completion being reached.
